Continuous Learning Points

In Sep 2003, the USD (AT&L) established a continuous learning policy for Defense Acquisition Workforce members. This continuous learning policy requires members of the acquisition workforce to earn 80 Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) every two years with the goal of achieving 40 CLPs per 12 month period. More information on the continuous learning policy can be viewed at: http://www.dau.mil/clc/Pages/policyguidance.aspx . Information on activities that earn CLPs is provided at: http://www.dau.mil/clc/Pages/apv.aspx .

Based on the continuous learning guidelines, DISAM has reviewed each of its courses to determine a recommended CLP value. The below table identifies the recommended number of CLPs to be credited for each respective course. Each of the military departments have created different systems to track the number of CLPs earned for their defense acquisition workforce members. CLPs earned by completing DISAM courses are NOT automatically recorded in the military departments’ CLP tracking systems. Students that desire to update their CLP values based on successful completion of DISAM courses should follow the guidance at: http://www.dau.mil/clc/Pages/tracking.aspx .
