Dr. Ronald H. Reynolds

Defense Institute of Security Assistance Management

Dr. Reynolds assumed his present duties as Commandant of the Defense Institute of Security Assistance Management (DISAM) on 13 September 2001. In this position he is responsible for the leadership of DISAM, a centralized DoD Field Activity under the purview of the Defense Security Cooperation Image of Dr. Reynolds Agency that provides professional education, training, research, and support to advance U.S. foreign policy through security assistance and cooperation. DISAM is responsible for oversight of career programs for the DoD international affairs workforce.

Prior to accepting this position, he served for almost 26 years in the United States Air Force primarily in Information Management, Personnel, and Education & Training positions. His military career included overseas assignments in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (1996-1998), Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea (1988-1989), and Tegucigalpa, Honduras (1984). His military decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), Air Force Commendation Medal (2 OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal, and the Air Force Achievement Medal (2 OLC).

Dr. Reynolds received a Doctorate of Public Administration from the University of Alabama in December of 2001 and holds Masters Degrees in Public Administration (from University of North Carolina at Charlotte, 1995) and Business Management (from Webster University; 1984). He received a Bachelor of General Studies Degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1979.

Dr. Reynolds currently resides in Beavercreek (OH) with wife, Victoria. They have two children. One son, Eric and his wife Sandy, reside in Kannapolis, North Carolina. One daughter, Erin is married to Petty Officer Third Class Jason Sturgill currently stationed at Mayport Naval Base, Jacksonville, Florida and they have one son, Isaiah.
